"Command, this is Vasquez. The crew is asking for a new mission."

"Copy, Vasquez. What do they want?"

"To explore the other universe. To see what's on the other side."

The Builder leader appeared beside her. "It's dangerous. But it's also an opportunity."

Elena nodded. "Then we'll go."

The Odyssey launched, its engines burning. The rift was gone, but the Builders had recorded its coordinates. They found another anomaly-a natural wormhole, stable and safe.

"Take us through," Elena ordered.

The ship slipped into the wormhole, the universe dissolving into light.

They emerged in a new galaxy-stars, planets, nebulae, all different.

"This is beautiful," the science officer said.

"Scan for life," Elena ordered.

The sensors picked up a signal-faint, rhythmic, artificial.

"Take us there," Elena said.

The signal led them to a planet, its surface covered in cities. A species emerged-tall, blue-skinned, their eyes kind.

"Welcome," they said. "We have been waiting."

"Waiting for what?" Elena asked.

"For someone to find us. We are alone in this universe. We need friends."

Elena smiled. "Then you've found them."

The Odyssey carried the news back to the colony.

The universe was vast.

But now, they were not alone.
